For example Holiday in Tassie 1973 or Family Photo's. We will use this as a title for your slideshow (if you want one), or the folder name on the disk or memory stick.

On a more positive note we have processed hundreds of thousands of items and not one has been lost or damaged.

You can pay us by Cash, Cheque, Bank Transfer, Credit/Debit Card or PayPal.

There is a 5% surcharge for Credit/Debit Card payments and payments via PayPal - both these payments need to be done via the internet. We do not accept credit cards at the office.
N.B. Our company is called KeptSafe Services and all cheques must be made payable to that name.

You will be provided will full details on how to pay when/if you place an order.

You may have hundreds or thousands of items, there is no need to count them before you send them off. We can count them as we scan them, and we'll give you the best price for that quantity.

This means any slide in a mount of 5cm x 5cm - it does not matter how large the actual film part is. In the main these are 35mm (135) and 126 film slides.

Any black and white, or colour 35mm negative in strips of 2 or more images where the whole strip is scanned and processed. We charge per image, not per strip.

Other Items means; photographs and documents up to A4 size, slides not in 5cm mounts, negatives that are not 35mm and single 35mm negatives.

Resolutions can be tricky. In this case we are talking about the scanning resolution (not the printing resolution). We measure it in DPI (dots per inch). The higher the resolution the bigger you can print the picture, and the longer it takes to scan and the more we charge. We can scan up to 4000dpi, we don't scan any lower than 1000dpi.

Basically there are two ways to store an image. TIFF files are very large and unweildy, but they are an exact representation of the image. JPEG files are smaller, faster to load and easier to deal with - however some image information is lost in the compression. We use high quality compression levels which (we believe) are indistinguishable from the TIFF. So we recommend the JPEGs. You may think differently; but we charge 5 percent more per image for TIFFs because they are so much harder to work with.

We can save your images to CD, DVD or a memory stick or memory card. The disks are provided by us (hence the charge). If you want them on Memory stick or memory card you need to supply these with the items you want scanned. So, if for example, you want to show your slides on a digital photo frame, you would remove the memory card and send that to us with the slides.

We can create a slideshow from your images on a disk that will play in your DVD player. The disk will also contain all the scanned images so that you can use them on your computer. You can also give us a title for the slideshow (which will appear at the start of the show and will be printed on the label and disk). You will need to arrange the slides/negs/photo's in the order you want them to appear.

Making a Slideshow costs an additional $25 per show - regardless of how many copies you have.

This is a process where dust and scratch marks are cleverly removed from the image. Generally the image is much improved however it may not be as sharp as if it was scanned without Digital ICE. If you have old family snapshots we would recommend you use Digital ICE. If your slides, negs and photo's are clean and unscratched you probably don't need it. Occaisionally this process will cause an odd halo effect. If we don't spot this simply return the slide to us and we will scan it again for you.

Digital ICE costs 5 cents extra per image.

Slides and Photographs are often faded and sometimes discoloured by age, generally the pigments don't fade evenly so they have a strange cast. Our software will do a pretty good job of restoring colours. Generally negatives (if stored correctly) don't require colour correction.

Colour Correction costs 5 cents extra per image.

Our disks are not copy-protected, so if you have a computer with a disk burner you can make as many copies as you like. On the other hand our copies are just $5 each.

If you are local to Sydney, you are welcome to pick up an drop off the slides yourself, however we do not have a store-front so you will need to let us know when to expect you.
